Tell us about yourself

I’m light-hearted, love to laugh and have an appreciation for good business and good food as well as a passion for creating spaces and places with a culture of connection and belonging, understanding and acceptance, no matter where individuals are in their life journey.
I believe wholeheartedly in what we do at Homebase and that connection truly saves lives.

Why have you joined the team at The Oasis Townsville?

Having worked in the suicide prevention space with Operation Compass for several years before coming to The Oasis Townsville, I have experienced first-hand the positive impact that we can create in our community for improving the quality of life for veterans and their families and ultimately preventing suicide.
The Oasis Townsville is the next step – Homebase is a place for veterans and their families to connect, know they belong, learn and link in, and I am proud to be a part of supporting those who have given so much to serve their country.

What are you most proud of in your life?

There are some people that come into this world that face challenge after challenge and yet they never give up. It is a privilege to walk along side these amazing individuals and witness their courage and resilience as well as the capacity for kindness in people who reach out to help others, no matter how small. We are all fighting battles that no one else knows about and kindness can save a life – sprinkle it everywhere!

What’s the best fun you’ve had with family and/or friends?

Celebrating marrying the love of my life with our amazing family and friends joining us for a whole weekend! Fun with our favourite humans really hit home about what matters in life and how quickly time can pass by if you let it. Don’t ever take a second for granted, live hard, love harder and make time for what truly matters.
