Field Technician -2 Positions
Based in Townsville
About the role:
Undertake operational support for instrumentation and associated equipment employed in support of training exercises. This includes training users on the use of the equipment, managing the equipment during deployment and redeployment, conducting basic maintenance and fitment of equipment.
This position also requires the incumbent to undertake basic maintenance tasks on Cubic’s deployable facilities. This role will require the incumbent to spend significant time deployed in the field in a highly physically demanding position.
What will you be responsible for?
Conduct operator level function checking of equipment assigned for use on training exercises
Conduct minor operator level maintenance of equipment
Raise non-technical inspection reports to commence the maintenance process for damaged equipment
Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment, training facilities and vehicles used for exercise support
Assist the issue and receipt process for the instrumentation
Fit the instrumentation to the customer’s personnel and vehicles
Assist the establishment and ongoing support of the contractor field accommodation during exercises
Asist in the reconstitution of field accommodation and associated ancillaries on return from an exercise period
Assist in the establishment and pack-up of deployable facilities
Assist with preventative maintenance for all assets
Assist in system stocktaking and customer directed audits
Follow equipment Standard Operating Procedures
Conduct battery management including charging and recharging of battery fleet, and preparation for exercise
May collect and maintain data on battery health statistics
What skills and experience will our ideal candidate have?
Willing to work on 3 weeks deployment at a time – July, August, September, October.
Willing to commence in June through to end 2022 on an as-needs basis.
Must have current driver’s licence
Eligibility to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Industry security clearance
Ability to work within a small, high performing team
Ability to travel as required and work outdoors
Ability to work in a high-volume environment whilst maintaining delivery and a high standard of service
Hold a current Construction White Card
Medium Rigid driver’s licence
Experience in audio stores or logistics
