Our VBA member Cubic Corporation designs, integrates and operates systems, products and services focused in the transportation, defence training and secure communications markets.
This position is a critical Leadership role and is responsible for the achieving the mission, vision and business plan for CMPS within Oceania. This position leads Program Managers and Senior Staff to ensure that contractual obligations are met within assigned budget and schedule.
In close cooperation with Director Strategic Development, Oceania, develops and executes the regional business growth strategy priorities, resourcing and performance management.
Supports product line annual business planning and bookings forecasts; conducts annual business planning for regional profit and loss (P&L).
Responsible for P&L on regionally administered contracts, including cost, schedule, staffing, and resource management issues (e.g., operations, engineering, business operations and administration).
Responsible for successful execution of primed and/or intercompany programmes overseen by CMPS regional division; ensuring all financial targets and business metrics for regionally administered entities are achieved; overseeing the management and development of the workforce; and implementation of Cubic policy and procedures.
Ensures a high frequency of customer contact to build strong customer relationships and to identify and articulate forthcoming customer requirements and inform internal research and development, and future direction of business.
Leads and/or supports the development of product technology improvement plans (technology roadmaps) in cooperation with Engineering, Strategic Development and other Cubic entities.
Works with departments such as operations, engineering, human resources, contracts, program management, sales, and customer service to ensure operational efficiency and economy.
Directs and coordinates promotion of products or services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in the industry.
Analyses P&L to identify areas in which improvements can be made, and ensures actions are addressed.
Directs preparation of directives outlining policy, program, and operations guidance to be implemented (as appropriate), to include health, safety and security culture and compliance.
Promotes organization in industry and trade associations.
In league with business development, fosters relations with external stakeholders and influencers, to include industrial partners, local suppliers, Embassies, and Training Missions.
A proven leader with extensive program management experience; systems integration, contracts management and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Highly organised and ambitious, self-motivated and driven to execute on commitments
Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and conduct negotiations with senior company leaders, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand procurement and contracting rules and processes
Excellent strategic planning skills to develop long-term plans for future of regional business and the ability to execute tactics to achieve the plan
Experience with responsibility for Profit and Loss–understand revenue, cost (direct and indirect), profit, and cash flow
Experience in developing solutions and proposals including multi-vendor solutions; development of customer centric win themes; understanding of cost drivers; and understanding of technical aspects of requirements and solutions
Degree in Business, Engineering and/or equivalent level of experience.
Must be available for both international and domestic travel, sometimes for extended periods
Must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance through Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA)
Combat arms / operational military experience and coalition experience both desired
Training experience in uniform: collective training design and simulation-enabled collective training environment (Combat Training Center [CTC], etc.) desired
Capability development agency experience (in an appropriate HQ role) desired
