Job Details:
Job Summary: Plans, directs, and manages activities related to procurement, storage, security, and freight of customer (Commonwealth and Cubic) property and equipment to ensure fulfillment of CTC LIS contractual requirements in accordance with Cubic policy. This position has subordinate responsibilities ensuring logistics and inventory management functions are conducted in an efficient and effective manner meeting all specified timelines. This position typically works under minimal supervision and direction and is required to regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority within applicable financial and authority delegations. The position is required to work in Cubic depot, Defence garrison and exercise area locations.
Reporting. This position reports to the Program Operations Manager and has direct reports.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead motivate and inspire the Logistics team to deliver sustainable service excellence outcomes. Provide technical leadership to the logistics team as well as being an on-site presence for the team in Depot and field deployments as necessary.
Manage the full range of integrated logistics support for the Program to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
Mentor, train, and develop inventory and logistics support staff to ensure high performance. Ensure the team has all necessary skills to provide a high level of service.
Provide reporting as required by Program senior management within area of responsibilities and control.
Through subordinate supervision,
Manage and coordinate repair and maintenance activities across all lines of repairs conducted by the program. Coordinate external OS&M support from approved suppliers and Cubic New Zealand.
Manage and coordinate logistic support activities related to spares planning, scheduling, expediting, purchasing, repair and maintenance and dispatching.
Ensure the Cubic Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) is correctly and continuously used for the identification, tracking and control of Commonwealth / customer and Cubic property and assets to support Program contractual, audit and spot-check requirements.
Assist and support the implementation of processes, work instructions and standard operational procedures (SOP) in accordance with the company’s quality system to ensure compliance
Develop and oversee best practice procedures on receiving, inspecting, storing, maintaining and verification of all incoming customer assets.
Ensure accurate annual inventory verification/audit activity and review to ensure accuracy of records and location. Manage all discrepancies are fully reconciled to conclusion with applicable reporting to the Commonwealth. Conduct random spot-checks of at least 10 items of Customer or Cubic property monthly.
Manage asset disposal as per contractual requirements for property.
In conjunction with DPM and PM, ensure purchasing activities such Purchase Requisition/Order processing, ordering, tracking, delivery and reporting are being delivered and are in line with Cubic’s Policies.
Maintain the asset warranty lifecycle and ensure related Services/Licenses are renewed ahead of or on time.
Assist and support the implementation of processes, work instructions and SOP in accordance with the QMS to ensure compliance
Accountable for the management and reporting end to end life cycle Customer Assets stored at Cubic depots.
Interact with the customer in a positive manner to ensure accurate communication of customer related problems Ensure there are investigations for all accident and “near miss” incidents, to determine causes, and respond to employee safety suggestions and report to the WHSE team; oversee the implementation of corrective action where practicable. Report all WHSE incidents and potential hazards and other items that are beyond own authority to rectify and escalate where applicable
Manage and coordinate the provision, readiness, deployment and operation of the Cubic field accommodation camp for all designated activities. Ensure the Camp is correctly maintained in a safe, hygienic and habitable condition and is regularly inspected for necessary maintenance and health standards. Plan and coordinate the safe and efficient deployment of the camp too and from activities and manage all resources for efficient life support requirements when deployed. Oversee EMS / EMP requirements on field deployments.
Manage and coordinate freight operations and provide appropriate assistance to the Program including shipping and or transport of the ECC and other work-related ISO containers.
Manage the Program vehicle, ISO container and equipment fleets ensuring necessary maintenance, repairs and servicing is conducted as required including registration and insurance requirements.
Manages any third-party contractors as required

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Essential:
Be able to attain and maintain a minimum Defence Security Clearance of Baseline.
Demonstrated experience in team management to ensure high performance level, multi-tasking and time management.
Possess strong Logistics Management and Maintenance Management knowledge or experience. .
Experience in writing reports, returns and correspondence.
Desirable:
Five years + experience in Military logistics (Transport, Supply, Maintenance) at junior to senior leadership levels.
Tertiary qualified in a relevant field, such as logistics, business etc. is highly desirable.
Previous Project Deliverable and scheduling experience.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Must have thorough familiarity with policies, processes, procedures and practices that apply to logistics and maintenance aspects.
Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite of applications especially Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio plus Adobe Acrobat.
