Strong Social Connections

Definition

Social connection is the experience of feeling close and connected to others. It involves feeling loved, cared for, and valued, and forms the basis of interpersonal relationships.

What we can do for you

We can support any group that is formed or would like to form to do an activity that encourages social connection. We provide a meeting place for veterans associations, for groups undertaking a craft or other activity. We have two huts that can seat groups in theatre style (about 40) or around tables (20-30). We have a coffee shop to encourage connection and conversation. We are not in the game of owning the activity but will help groups find others, get grants or just let groups use a room free of charge (for members of the ex-ADF and serving ADF communities). We also conduct operations out of Townsville under the auspices of Operation FARMER ASSIST which are intended to bring a group of our community together and go out West to help our farmers, and in doing so form our own connections and teams.
